Trail Safety

Stay on the right side of the roadways.  These roads are traveled by cars and trucks.

Always wear a DOT-compliant helmet, goggles, long sleeves, long pants, over-the-ankle boots, and gloves.

Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Never carry a passenger on a single-rider ATV, and no more than one passenger on an ATV specifically designed for two people.

Ride only on designated trails and at a safe speed.

If you are riding slower than the riders behind you, kindly pull to the side and allow them to pass. Not everyone is comfortable riding at certain speeds.

Do not pass other riders unless they are fully aware that you are passing.

Do not litter.  Please take bags along with you on the ride to collect any trash.

Trail Etiquette

Picture
If you ride two way trails, please take the time to learn proper trail etiquette in terms of hand signals. When a rider puts up two fingers, they're not flashing you the peace sign. They are communicating to you that there are two more riders coming behind, so exercise caution!

For example, if you are riding in a group of three people, the leader should flash on-coming riders two fingers, the 2nd guy one finger,  and finally the last guy should flash a closed fist (no more riders in your group).

Nobody wants a head on collision and hand signals are one of the ways to help minimize accidents.
